A trellis is a structure that helps something else grow.

That's the whole idea. We're not building power plants — we're building the quiet structure that lets every yard produce its own power, and share what it doesn't need.

ORIGIN One sealed unit at a time.

Why we started here

Every serious plan to decarbonize the grid assumes someone, somewhere, builds something enormous — a plant, a transmission corridor, a substation upgrade — and that the rest of us wait for it. We started Trellis Atomics on a different premise: that power can be planted at the scale of a household, one sealed unit at a time, without waiting on infrastructure that may never get built.

CHARTER

A public benefit corporation

Trellis Atomics, PBC is chartered around a specific commitment: broadening access to reliable, carbon-free power without requiring the grid-scale buildout that's kept so much of that promise on paper. That commitment sits alongside our obligation to investors, not beneath it — the two are meant to grow together.

LEADERSHIP Experience forged where reliability is non-negotiable.
Leadership

The team behind Trellis

Robert Patton
Robert Patton
Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Robert spent over twenty years building and operating distributed generation assets for regional utilities before co-founding Trellis. He started the company on the idea that the fastest way to decarbonize the grid was to stop treating every home as a customer and start treating it as a possible source.

Daniel Andrews
Daniel Andrews
Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder

Daniel trained as a nuclear-qualified officer in the U.S. Navy's nuclear propulsion program before leading core systems engineering programs in the civilian sector. Submarine core to backyard core — that throughline makes him the right person to build this.

Laura Butler
Laura Butler
Chief Operating Officer

Laura built her career scaling manufacturing and field operations for hardware companies shipping physical products at volume. At Trellis, she runs the line from the factory floor to the pad in your backyard.

Justin Porter
Justin Porter
VP, Regulatory Affairs & Nuclear Safety

Justin spent fifteen years in fission licensing, including time inside the federal licensing process itself, before joining Trellis to build our Class III compliance program from the ground up.

Hal George
Hal George
General Counsel

Hal practiced energy and utility law for two decades before joining Trellis, where he works alongside the regulatory team on everything from site agreements to interconnection standards.
