A trellis makes nothing itself. It doesn't hold water, and it doesn't store a single volt — what it does is give something else, a climbing rose, a tomato vine that would otherwise sprawl across the dirt, a structure to grow on. That's an odd thing to name a power company after. It's also exactly the point.
Almost every serious plan for getting off carbon-heavy power assumes someone, somewhere, builds something enormous: a new plant, a new transmission corridor, a substation upgrade for a neighborhood that's been on a waiting list for years already. Those things may well get built, and we hope they do. We just didn't want to wait for them, and we didn't think anyone else should have to, either.
So we built the Arbor: a sealed, factory-fueled unit that sits on a small poured pad in a backyard and quietly makes more power than most households use, for twelve years, without anyone on-site ever having to think about fuel, maintenance, or the grid it no longer depends on. It's licensed for residential use, cooled by nothing more complicated than warm air rising off the cabinet, and once it's planted, the plan is that you mostly forget it's there.
Where we are right now
We're early. Right now, that means engineering the Arbor, building out our regulatory and safety program, and beginning site assessments with the first homeowners across the Mid-Atlantic who've reached out to us. There's no install to point to yet, no funding round to announce, and no reservation queue to report on — just a small team convinced this is worth building carefully, in the right order, before it's built at all.
We'll use this space to share what's actually true as it becomes true — a design milestone finished, a regulatory step cleared, and eventually, a first Arbor in the ground.
